A little valentine love

Did everyone enjoy that oh so romantic holiday? Get anything fun? Here in the Douglas household it was low-key but special. I honestly didn't expect anything since I just got flowers two weeks ago wishing me a great start to grad school.

But to my surprise, 12 beautiful roses awaited me on the table along with my favorite candy and a card. JD said since our Valentine celebrations in the past have been slim to none, he wanted to make this one special. It was very much appreciated.

On to another thought... a few weeks ago I received an e-mail from my mom that went a little something like this...

"Hi honey. I was just reading through your blog and I think you should include more of your wedding pictures on your blog, since it's mostly about you guys."

So in honor of V-Day and my mom's request, I thought I'd share our wedding snapshot video with you all. Please excuse the making out in the beginning, we were told to do it! :) Thanks to Derek Dienner for creating such an awesome video.

Wedding at Pen Ryn Mansion

Well friends, we survived our crazy wedding month and LOVED every minute of it. (in case you missed the first 2 check out wedding 1 and wedding 2)

3 rehearsal dinners. 3 outdoor weddings. 3 dresses. 2 tux rentals. 3 different cities. 2 hotels. took 196 pictures. drove 694 miles.

This weekend we drove to Holland, PA in Bucks County, which is about 40 minutes north of Philadelphia, to celebrate Vicki and Keith's wedding. Vicki and I were roommates all throughout college. She was in my wedding and is one of the kindest and most caring friends I have.

They had their ceremony and reception at a beautiful mansion overlooking the water.

The Rehearsal:
Wedding Day:
The After Party: Parx Casino
Another fabulous wedding down in the books. It was so great to see Vicki and Keith get married and have the 4 college roomies united again.

p.s. did I mention I won $78.00 on the slot machines?! wohoo!

Wedding on the Water

Last weekend, we attended Paul and Becca's wedding and enjoyed spending time with all the Douglas'.

This past weekend we headed to Baltimore to the Inner Harbor for a weekend filled with the Hessen's. My older brother, Adrian, married his beautiful bride, Michelle at 5:30 pm on Saturday evening on the water at Pier 5.

I have never seen a more beautiful backdrop for a wedding. Boats floating on the water and the setting sun can't even begin to describe the view.

Again, we had so much fun. The weekend was special for a few reasons...
  • All three children are now married.
  • I got to see my 83-year-old grandma who lives in Texas.
  • Adrian married a girl perfect for him in every way.
Another wedding down in the books. Can't wait for Vicki's, my college roommate's, in two weeks.
Then we'll be done.

Photo Booth Fun

I wanted to include this in my last post, but was too tired. But it's SO great I couldn't wait to share the fun.

Becca and Paul had a photo booth at their reception from the company Lancaster Photo Booth . It served as the guest book, favor, and pure entertainment for the guests.

Every guest was encouraged to throw on some props (huge glasses, cowboy hat, beads etc), and hop in for a round of photos. Each time 4 copies of the photo strip printed. One for the guest book, which you then signed, and 3 for you and whoever else was in the photo. The photo booth was unlimited so you could go in as many times as you liked.

I think it's a genius idea. They now have a unique guest book with actal photos of their guests and a favor the guests will really enjoy.

If your planning a wedding, I highly suggest you consider adding a photo booth. I promise, it won't disappoint.

Becca & Paul tie the knot

We're back from a glorious weekend in Pennsylvania. We had a busy weekend and we're beyond exhausted. Before the work week begins (and I fall asleep in this recliner), I wanted to share a few pictures.

On Saturday we attended JD's sister's wedding.
The weather was beautiful. The bride was stunning. The reception was really fun. We danced A LOT. We visited with all our family. I left the house at 6:40 am and got home at 1:00 a.m.

I learned how to use a really neat camera setting. It highlights one color and shoots everything else in black and white.
On Sunday we met up with our great friends from high school. They live in Colorado and we hadn't seen them in 2 years. It was great to catch up and meet their 2 precious little girls.

Well folks, 1/3 weddings are complete. Can't wait for the next two. I'll do my best to upload pictures as the events unfold.

Goodnight.
